Numbers that represent some aspect of our lives, for example the number of ‘Likes’ on Facebook, products sold, customers served, kilometres run, votes counted, A&E patients admitted, transferred or discharged within 4 hours. The product of someone deciding to count something.


A short way of saying ‘data visualisation’. The thing that results when you visualise numbers. Most often a chart or graph or map. A good and popular way of communicating with and about data. See examples in the gallery.
